You may recognize this card as I shared a sneak peek of it a few weeks ago. Sorry it took me so long to post, but I was saving it for a special day! The background was created using my Gingham Background Stamp and a thin, stripe stamp that I found in my stash. I found one on my Banner Alphabet Add-On set, but if you don’t have one you can just use a red marker and a ruler! I added the stripes through the white squares both vertically and horizontally. When you’re finished stamping you have the perfect Christmas, plaid background!

I wanted a wreath as the focal point of my card so I inked up a piece of white cardstock using Forest Moss Distress Oxide ink. Then I die-cut it using my Seasonal Wreath Die Set. I cut two additional wreaths from white cardstock to layer underneath the green one for some dimension. I also die-cut a bow from the same die set out of some kraft cardstock. I layered two on top of each other so it had a bit of dimension as well.

To add a bit of color to my wreath, I stamped out a few images from my Freshly Picked stamp set. I used two of the branches, one flower and one berry cluster. I love all the florals in this set and somehow always find a way to sneak them onto my card projects.

I stamped my greeting from Fa La La onto the center of a white, stitched rectangle panel. I made sure to line up my wreath and floral images beforehand so I had the spacing right. Once that was stamped I could assemble the card using both liquid adhesive and foam tape.

Anyways, I thank you for spending a few minutes of your day with me.

Merry Christmas, friend!

Merry & Oh So Bright Bells & Baubles Card

Eep!

Christmas will be here in less than one week and I still have a few posts queued up to share! One of them is today’s card that I created using a multitude of items from my November release. You may want to get out your sunglasses because this project is very merry (and oh so bright!).

Let’s get started…

You see what I mean? This card is layered to the max and uses every color under the rainbow…but that’s just how I like it! Anyways, I started this card by stamping out all of my layered ornament images from Bells & Baubles onto their coordinating die cuts. I used a variety of ink colors but tried to keep the color palette consistent for each ornament. Once I finished those, and still had my inks out, I moved onto the background panel.

Using my Snow Flurries Background Stamp I created a whimsical backdrop for my card design. I stamped the base snowflake layer in a light mint color and added in all the fill-in snowflakes using the same color palette as the ornaments. I added in a few neutral colors as well to round out the palette. Now that I’d stamped my little hands off, it was time for the focal panel.

Along the bottom of a white, stitched rectangle I used one of the greetings from Fa La La and stamped that in a crisp, black ink. Now it was time to assemble my ornaments! When I was playing with the arrangement I felt like I needed something along the top for them to “hang” from. I pulled out my Seasonal Wreath Die Set and die cut a few of the wreath from a panel inked with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink. I snipped the wreath apart and layered them to create a garland along the top of my panel.

I nestled in the tops of the ornaments between the leaves and added the ornaments right below. Any ornament that had an accessory like a bow was adhered using tape runner adhesive. Once my panel was finished I popped it onto the background panel which was adhered to an A2 size cardbase. And my merry, bright and festive holiday card was finished!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card! If you’re a lover of color and layers then I think you will.

Stay tuned for a few more holiday posts coming soon!

Festive Holiday Wreath Cards using the Gina K. Designs Wreath Builder Templates

Ho, ho, hellooo there!

Who’s ready for the weekend?! Right now I’m heading down to see my sweet baby niece for her first photos with Santa! I hope you have some festive plans coming up or at least some holiday crafting. That leads me to today’s post…I’m sharing two cards using the Gina K. Designs Wreath Builder Templates and Right at Home holiday stamps! I’ve been dying to use this stencil since I got it a few months ago and thought it might be fun to create some festive, holiday wreaths with it!

Let’s get started…

For my first card I pulled out the Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set as it has several images that are perfect for this time of year. I started by placing the largest stencil into the top corner of my MISTI and popping in a piece of white cardstock cut to 4 in x 4 in into the open center. I aligned my stocking image towards the bottom and picked it up with the MISTI’s door.

I stamped it down, rotated my panel two notches and stamped again. Since the images I used were large I wanted to be sure there was enough space for the other elements. Instead of rotating the panel to the next notch, I decided to skip to the second notch instead. I continued adding images to my wreath and colored them in using alcohol markers. I popped the panel onto a 4 1/4 in x 4 1/4 in red cardbase and my first card was finished!

Oh! I also added some white pen detail on the stockings and a bit of shimmer to the stars using a clear Wink of Stella pen.

My next card makes my stamp-layering-loving-heart go pitter-patter! I used some the cozy images from Bits & Pieces: Winter to build wreath of some of my favorite things about the season. Beanies, mugs of warm brew, snowflakes…what’s not to love! I used the same process as before, but pulled out all my colored ink pads instead of my markers. In the center I stamped a greeting from Christmas Sentiments in a crisp, black ink.
