Find the Beauty Card Trio by Deepti Stephens

Hello there everyone!

This is Deepti Stephens and I am so happy that I am guest designing for one of my favourite stamp companies, Right at Home. Today, I have three cards to share with you all.

So let's get started! :)

Find the Beauty Card Trio by Deepti Stephens // rightathomeshop.com/blog

For my first card, I stamped floral images from the Find the Beauty stamp set and layered the colors with the variety of Catherine Pooler inks - It's a Girl, Party Dress, Rockin' Red, Mint to be, Lime Rickey and Midnight.

I took a navy blue cardstock and white embossed the sentiment. I adhered all the floral images in the form of the wreath, a kind of semi-wreath.

And finally embellished the card with a few clear sequins.

Here's my video tutorial for this card...

Here comes the second card!

On a light grey card stock, I stamped the Grid Background Stamp set in Midnight ink.

I stamped the leaves on a green card stock from Find the Beauty with the Grass Skirt ink, fussy cut it and adhered over the second smaller panel.

Finally. stamped the sentiment with Midnight Ink and embellished with pink sequins. Those pink sequins look like pretty flowers, right!

And for my third card...

I applied strokes of blue water color on a white card base. Later, I added splatters of black ink.

I stamped the sentiment and other images on a white card stock with Midnight ink, fussy cut it and popped over the main card base.

I colored the envelopes with Sizzix Permanent Red Marker. The stamp set I used is from Happy Mail Year 2.

And that's all for today. Thank you so much Nicole for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I hope you all liked my projects and got inspired.

Thanks once again for visiting! :)

You Make Me Smile Rainbow Watercolor Card // 2018 Stamping for Autism Awareness Blog Hop

Happy Monday, friend!

I hope you had a great Easter weekend. We were blessed with beautiful weather here in MA so no complaints here! I was even able to sneak in some crafty time which makes it even better. The card I created is my contribution to the 2018 Stamping for Autism Awareness Blog Hop hosted by Veronica Zalis and Tenia Nelson! I'm so happy to have been asked to join in on such a special celebration. Make sure to read until the end to see how you too can participate, but until then...

Let's get started...

Autism-Banner.png

The general theme of today's hop is "feel good" and "encouraging". This immediately sparked the idea of implementing as many rainbow elements into my card because, well, who doesn't feel good about rainbows?!

For my background I white heat-embossed a piece of watercolor paper with my Grid Background Stamp. Once it was heat-set, I began adding color using the ink smooshing technique. Basically, you dab a bit of dye ink onto a piece of acetate, add some water to activate it and smoosh it onto your panel. It's really quite easy to do!

To make sure that I didn't end up with a weird mix of colors, I started with the primaries: red, blue, and yellow. By doing so I was able to create areas that were opaque red, blue, etc. and areas where they overlapped to create purple, orange, etc. Where they overlapped I decided to further intensify the color by adding ink in that same shade. In essence, I used the primary colors to create a guideline for where I should place my secondary colors. Ya get what I'm trying to say? If not there's a video tutorial below!

I set my panel aside to dry and started working on my sentiment circle that I die-cut from my Sweet Stitches Die Set. Onto the center of it I stamped a greeting from my Color in Sentiments set which coordinates perfectly with my rainbow theme. I made sure to stamp it in a waterproof ink as I knew I was going to fill in the "smile" with watered-down dye ink. I added all the colors I used onto my background (listed below), picked them up with a waterbrush and colored in my word.

Lastly, I flicked on some color to the center of some flower die-cuts from the same die set. I also colored the centers and leaves with the same inks from the rest of my project. #watercolorallthethings I popped up the circle, flowers, flower centers and used liquid adhesive for the leaves and my card was finished!

You can watch the entire creation of this card in my process video below...

My friend Holly of HollyBeary Creations is participating with me as part of Right at Home. You can click the button below to hop over to her post.

Have Joy Abstract Florals Card // National Craft Month with Right at Home + A Rare Ruby Crafts

Welcome to day #5!

Eek! Can you believe it's already been five day? This celebration is just flying by. *insert sad face emoji* BUT there are still three days worth of inspiration lined up so don't be glum, chum! Now, let's introduce today's guest. Please give a big crafty hug to Ruby of A Rare Ruby Crafts! Ruby is one of my newest crafty friends and I am so thankful we met because we seem to have so much in common and cuz, well, crafty friends are the best friends! For our challenge we decided to recreate an old card design.

Let's get started...

Off to the side here is a picture of one of my older card designs. This one was created almost exactly two years ago this month so what an appropriate time to recreate it, huh? This card brings back so many exciting memories as it was one of the first cards I made using my own stamp line. Fast forward to present day and I have an entire collection of items including a coordinating die set that matches this set. At the time I wasn't able to invest in them but now that I've grown, coordinating dies for everyone!

Before I walk down memory lane too much more let me show you my updated design...

I started off this card with a ton of die-cut flowers cut using the Abstract Florals Die Set. It definitely makes creating these flowers so much easier with the coordinating dies. I grabbed out a ton of Catherine Pooler ink colors and got to stamping! All colors will be linked in the supplies list below.

I used a variety of of the different layers included in the Abstract Florals set to build an arrangement of whimsical florals. If you happen to have this set and want a few ideas of how to arrange some of the pieces, you can download my stamping guide here. But, please know that you can mix and match them however you please. That is the beauty and fun of this set!

For my cardbase I used my Gingham Background Stamp (does this not scream spring picnic?!) and Tiara ink. My focal panel is cut using the smallest rectangle from the Find the Beauty Die Set and the sentiment is from His Love.

Take a peek at how I put everything together in my process video below...

And now that you've seen my recreation, make sure to head over to see Ruby's! I'll be heading right over there myself.
