National Craft Month Celebration Blog Hop 2017 // Make Something Beautiful
Good morning, crafters!
March is a special month for us as it's completely dedicated to crafting and creativity. To celebrate the occasion my Design Team (along with some special guests!) and I are holding a celebratory blog hop today! I don't know about you but I love any excuse to throw a party -- err, blog hop so I hope you're excited for today's festivities. There's tons of fun inspiration in store for you using a new stamp set that I'm releasing today: Make Something Beautiful. For my project I wanted to create something bright and colorful that also incorporated a new technique. I got my inspiration from one of my crafty crushes, Yana Smakula. She's always creating cards with funky backgrounds so I decided to try my hand at recreating the effect. Instead of coloring in the images from the Make Something Beautiful set, I added color with ink. For the hot glue gun, I used a large circle image from Abstract Florals as the base. For the rest of the images, I simply flipped over the stamp and inked up that part that is normally stuck to the acrylic block.
I used a variety of inks from Simon Says Stamp for the bases and I stamped all the outlines over top with a crisp black ink. For my sentiment, I white heat-embossed it onto some black cardstock and trimmed around it to create a bubble. I popped it up in the center and adhered some clear sequins around it to add some sparkle. Overall, I love the colors of this card and the playfulness of the design.
