You Make A Happy Life Anemone Card // National Craft Month Celebration with Right at Home + Concord & 9th

Happy Wednesday, friend!

Have you been following along with the celebration this week? If not it's not too late to join in! Click back through the blog to see what's been happening. Today I'm welcoming another guest to  the blog that is super talented and a driving force in our crafty industry...please welcome Angie from Concord & 9th! I can't wait to click over and see what she made, but in the meantime, let me show you my creation.

Let's get started...

You Make A Happy Life Anemone Card // National Craft Month Celebration with Right at Home + Concord & 9th

Angie challenged us to use a spectrum of colors, whether it be rainbow, pastel, etc., to create our projects. I decided to use a monochromatic color palette of varying blue hues for my design. Fingers crossed I met the challenge, lol! I grabbed some inks from Catherine Pooler Designs along with a few of my favorite spring stamps and got stamping!

I started by stamping my Watercolor Background Stamp onto a stitched rectangle using Mint to Be ink from Catherine Pooler Designs. I just love this color for a spring card. Over top I knew I wanted to have a circle die-cut with my sentiment as well as a flower stamped with my Anemone set. I stamped my sentiment from His Love onto the circle in a black ink and set it aside while I worked on my flower.

For the base layer of my anemone I used Skylight which is a new ink color to the line. Over top I used Daydream. In the center I stamped with Shea Butter and added the last layer in black. The colors of this flower pop perfectly off of the mint background. While I was at it I stamped a leaf from the set using Green Tea and Eucalyptus. I did try using some other blue colors for the leaves for something different but decided against it.

I trimmed the stem part of the leaf off and cut it in half to tuck behind the flower. I added all the pieces clustered towards the bottom of the sentiment circle with foam tape. I popped the circle onto the background and adhered the panel to an A2 white card base. Around the elements I decided to add some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Limoncello. This color coordinates with the yellow flower center nicely.

If you've been following along with us for a while you may remember that Angie and I collaborated on a holiday post back in the day. It was so fun working with her and even more fun meeting her in person at Simon Says Create last year. I hope to meet up with her again sometime in our travels as she inspires me tremendously.

I'll let you go before this turns too sappy. *wink wink*

See you back here tomorrow with another project!
