Have A Holly Jolly Christmas Gingham Background Card

Merry Christmas Eve, friend!

EEP! The day is finally here! Can you believe it?! I hope you’re snuggled in at home nice and warm waiting for family to arrive and for delicious food to be done cooking. Please know I’m wishing you a safe and beautiful holiday! I wanted to pop on today with a quick project to wrap up all the Christmas crafting I’ve been doing the past few weeks.

Let’s get started…

You may recognize this card as I shared a sneak peek of it a few weeks ago. Sorry it took me so long to post, but I was saving it for a special day! The background was created using my Gingham Background Stamp and a thin, stripe stamp that I found in my stash. I found one on my Banner Alphabet Add-On set, but if you don’t have one you can just use a red marker and a ruler! I added the stripes through the white squares both vertically and horizontally. When you’re finished stamping you have the perfect Christmas, plaid background!

I wanted a wreath as the focal point of my card so I inked up a piece of white cardstock using Forest Moss Distress Oxide ink. Then I die-cut it using my Seasonal Wreath Die Set. I cut two additional wreaths from white cardstock to layer underneath the green one for some dimension. I also die-cut a bow from the same die set out of some kraft cardstock. I layered two on top of each other so it had a bit of dimension as well.

To add a bit of color to my wreath, I stamped out a few images from my Freshly Picked stamp set. I used two of the branches, one flower and one berry cluster. I love all the florals in this set and somehow always find a way to sneak them onto my card projects.

I stamped my greeting from Fa La La onto the center of a white, stitched rectangle panel. I made sure to line up my wreath and floral images beforehand so I had the spacing right. Once that was stamped I could assemble the card using both liquid adhesive and foam tape.

Anyways, I thank you for spending a few minutes of your day with me.

Merry Christmas, friend!
