Not only do I adore these sets as individuals, but they go so well together and I love when I find stamps that are such a great combo.
For the two cards you see here, I kept my color palette the same, but played around with different techniques. I pulled out my spray bottle and dye inks to create the watercolor effect you see on the Thank You card. I love using this technique with large coverage stamps and the Abstract Florals set has quite a few. The technique is simple, you stamp two water soluble ink colors on a stamp, side by side, spray the stamp with water, then stamp. The effect you get is a mixed watercolor look and I love how surprising and organic it can be. After letting the card dry, I then came back in and stamped the outline images over the flowers with some black ink and the inner dots in colored ink to really make the flowers pop.
For the Celebrate card, I started by building a background in warm ink colors using the phrase stamp "I'm so very happy for you". By keeping the colors soft I was able to stamp the word "celebrate" directly on top of the background with a strong black ink. I then built a scene with bright flowers and a butterfly to frame the sentiment. I love that Nicole kept the outline of these florals simple to allow for even the clumsiest and impatient of us to pull off some easy fussy cutting.
If you've already purchased these sets from the shop, I hope you're having fun with the endless possibilities they provide. Such versatile sets deserve to get really inky and put through their paces. If you haven't picked these up yet, I know you won't be disappointed if you do. I know I'll be reaching for these again and again for an array of different card making occasions. I can't wait to see what Nicole comes up with next.
Happy stamping friends!
