Valentine's Day Happy Mail Swap Love You Card by Holly

Happy Thursday everyone! Holly here today sharing a sneak peek at one of the items in my Valentine’s Day Mail Swap. This swap is unique because we are only sending flat items that fit in an envelope.

I created a card to go along with my other items. I’m leaving the inside blank so the recipient can send the card to someone they love.

I created this bold background on a White card base with some VersaFine ink and the new gorgeous Watercolor Background Stamp. Then I die cut one of the hearts from the Folded Sweetheart Die Set  using some gold glitter paper. I also die cut the "love you" sentiment from same die set from white and black card stock. I layered them offset just a little bit, creating a shadow. Then I adhered them to the gold heart. The heart is adhered to the card with no dimensional adhesive so it stays a little flatter.

I stamped a sentiment from the new Be Mine set onto a piece of white card stock with black ink and I trimmed it into a banner. I adhered it to the front of the card as well with no dimension adhesive. I wanted some extra gold so I added some mixed gold sequins.

If there is one item to get from this release it’s that background stamp…you really should get it all but that background is a must!! Be sure to stay tuned for more great ideas for the Swap from the Design Team!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Valentine's Day Happy Mail Swap Content Ideas by Nicole

Good morning!

With Valentine's Day just around the corner it's the perfect opportunity to tell someone you love them. Whether it be a love letter or a package full of sweet treats, the purpose is to bring a smile to the recipient's face. Since I'm taking part in my Valentine's Day Happy Mail Swap, with the challenge of only sending flat items, I thought I'd share a few happy mail ideas here with you today. You can be as creative as you'd like with your mail, just make sure it helps the receiver know they're loved! P.S. Ginger! Don't read this post!

Doesn't that look like the happiest pile of paper you've ever seen?! I can not wait for Ginger to receive her envelope. Now, let me explain what I included.

I knew from the beginning I wanted to include a few things I'd purchased as well as a few items that I handmade especially for her. I added a few strips of stickers and a vellum heart that I got at the Target Dollar Spot. They're both flat but oh so cute. I also had the idea to create my own little piece of artwork for her using my ZIG Clean Color Brush Pens. I used a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and free-handed rows of hearts in various shades of pink, purple, and red. I blended out the colors using my waterbrush and added a few details using a white pen once it was dry. Can't you just imagine this with a cute piece of washi tape hanging above her desk?! Love!

I also wanted to add an element that incorporated her initial. I had some kraft stencils lying around; the ones you use to paint letters on poster board or something like that? I grabbed a "G" and painted it light pink with some acrylic paint. I added a piece of cute patterned paper behind it and embellished with a paperclip, enamel heart, and a strip of cardstock with an embossed sentiment. Right behind that piece in the photo you may notice a coloring page. I received a pack of them in a subscription box but they're originally from Bright & Blue Designs.

I'm still deciding on a few extra things to include but these are the main elements so far! I plan to tuck them all into my handmade envelope, seal it closed, and then tuck that envelope into a padded mailer. I want to make sure to arrives to Ginger safely and in tack.

I just love happy mail. Don't you?
