DIY Fall Leaves Embroidery Hoop Using Stamped Images

Hello crafty friends! This is Nathalie guesting this month on the blog and I am super excited about the project I am sharing with you today!

Earlier this year I picked up a new hobby which is hand embroidery. Up until now, I was purchasing patterns online created by other artists but as soon as I received the Right at Home Fall Leaves stamp set, I knew I wanted to use it to create an embroidery project!

After doing a quick test of my design on paper, I stamped directly on fabric (a natural linen) with regular Versa ink. Here is a look, in the hoop, before the stitching began:

It took me quite a while to pick colors and types of stitches but once the decisions were made I didn't stop until I was done and I LOVE the result!

Who knew you could make pretty embroidered wall art with Right at Home stamps?! It was a first for me and it definitely won't be the last time I use this technique!

If you're inspired to make your own and would like more information on the type of stitches or colors I used, or you're just in need of help, I will be happy to respond to anyone contacting me via my Instagram account: @anounceofcreativity

Thank you Nicole for inviting me to play with your fabulous stamps and dies! I had a lot of fun with them!

Harvest Blessings Fall Leaves Cards by Nathalie

Hi! Nathalie (aka AnOunceofCreativity) here again! Today, I will share two card projects I have created using the Be Thankful stamp set and Fall Leaves.

My first card was inspired by the fabulous Fall Leaves Die Set:

I cut the same leaf shape twice, once in patterned paper and once in vellum, using the negative of the patterned paper as (raised) background over my yellow card base. I also cut an acorn out of cardstock for added contrast. I like clean designs but I often add and mix textures. That is my purpose with the enamel dots, stitched outline, string bow and ribbon banner.

To finish off, I stamped a sentiment from the new Be Thankful stamp set directly on the background. I love the mix of fonts and the size of this sentiment and I even used it again on my second card.

This second card was inspired by the Fall Leaves stamp set. I loved the small leaves and berries in this set and really wanted to show off their design. I masked and sprayed white cardstock with two different warm fall colors and stamped three clusters of leaves and berries on the edges.

I am planning on sending these to family for Thanksgiving and I hope to have inspired you to do the same!

Thank you for stopping by!

Fall Leaves Mini Pocket Letter by Nathalie

Hello Right at Home fans! My name is Nathalie (also known online as AnOunceofCreativity)
and I am very excited to be guesting this month for Right at Home! Are you familiar with pocket letters? They are decorated page protectors usually filled with crafting goodies and destined to be mailed to someone...I enjoy making them as much I love receiving them!

For today's post, I created a fall themed mini pocket letter using the Fall Leaves stamp set, Fall Leaves Die Set and the Be Thankful stamp set:

I am using a "baseball card" protector that I cut in third in order to end up with three vertical pockets.

In the first pocket, I placed a small notebook I made and decorated with cardstock leaves doodled over with a white pen. The middle pocket is a shaker pocket where I placed a tag, a wood veneer, sequins and die-cut plus stamped leaves. The last pocket holds a small letter, a tag I stamped with one of my favorite sentiment from the Be Thankful set and a white card stamped then watercolored.

Here is a look at it folded and ready to go:

Fall and the Thanksgiving season is always a good time to send a message of gratitude and a little treat to a pen pal or a crafty friend. I hope to have inspired you to give pocket letters a try! Right at Home has just the right supplies to do so!
