STRETCH the Use of Your Seasonal Stamps!

Welcome to Day #2 of our National Craft Month Celebration! I hope you’re enjoying the ideas shown so far. For today’s today I wanted to share how you can put some of your favorite seasonal stamps to use beyond their intended season.

Stretch the use of your seasonal stamps

One of my favorite (& my customers too!) stamps in Right at Home Shop’s collection is Cozy Cardinal. It’s a stamp layering set which allows you to use all your favorite ink colors and it has such a fun, whimsical style. It’d be such a shame to only use it only for the holiday season…

Who says you have to? Not me!

Because I love this sweet bird so much, I decided to stamp him in bright and cheerful yellow hues to make him into a spring bird. And the results are adorbs! To fill in his branch, I pulled in flowers from Find the Beauty and tons more ink colors. I arranged them on his branch to give him a pretty pile of petals to sit in and stamped a sentiment from the same set in the top corner. The background was created using our Layered Rainbow Stencil Set and just one ink color. After I added a few sequins, the card was finished!

If you’re curious, here are the ink colors I used for the background and stamping: It’s a Girl, Party Dress, Rockin Red, Orange Twist, Tiara, Glitz, Sauna, Lime Rickey, Grass Skirt, Mint to Be, Aquatini, Daydream, Sweet Sixteen, Flirty Fuchsia and Icing on the Cake by Catherine Pooler Designs and Tsukineko VersaFine Clair Pigment Ink in Nocturne.

Next time you’re in your craft room, take a peek at your stash and see if there’s anything in your collection that you could use beyond its intended purpose. I’ve found that stamps with more of a whimsical style work best, but get creative! Cardmaking has no rules! (except to have fun…)

Layered Rainbow Stencil Set

This 6x9, five piece stencil set layers together to create a radiant, colorful rainbow background. Yes! This panel will be large enough to cover an entire slimline cardbase but can easily be used on smaller designs as well.

Features:

Number etchings centered on bottom of stencil to ensure proper order when layering
Ray etchings on layers 2-5 to ensure proper alignment before inking next layer (Click to third photo for a picture of the etchings. The etchings will line up with the previously inked layer.)

Tip: Use five different colors (as intended) OR switch it up! Use three colors and repeat two of the them for the last two layers or use an unlimited number of colors by inking up each bow on each layer individually! (Check out the second photo to see what I mean)
