DIY Painted Pencils + Gift Bag // Back to School with Right at Home

Hello! It's Amy T here with a DIY Back to School theme project. I can't believe how many kids are going back to school this week! The summer has just flown by, hasn't it?! I have some fun painted pencils. These are super easy to make!

I took Ticonderoga pencils that I happened to have in my stash and covered them in Martha Stewart Multi-Surface acrylic paint. I think the hardest thing was picking out the colors!

Don't you love the green paint...yes, the one with the pink in the middle. Just keeping
things real and showing you how I managed to mix up my paints.

I used washi tape to mask off the metal band and waited about an hour in between coats of paint. I did 2 coats. After they were totally dried, I used my Black Sharpie and just printed out different fun sayings. That's it, such an easy and fun project!I

I embellished a kraft bag with the Happy Mail stamp set. I used the Simple Stories - Let's Party Paper pad from the Stamped & Sealed Craft Box // Let's Party kit! These will go postal to my college girl. There will definitely be a coffee gift card tucked in the kraft bag too!

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!
